This year Full Circle Project went to APAHE as a team and had this to say about the experience:

Dr. Timothy Fong: The Asian Pacific Americans and Higher Education (APAHE) pre-conference was extremely valuable for experienced grant administrators of AANAPISIs to meet with directors from newly funded institutions.  It was a chance to share challenges, opportunities, and best practices. New programs gained a great deal of knowledge about starting and maintaining AANAPISI grant requirements.

Marietess Masulit: Attending APAHE is an empowering experience. Being in a space filled with others who look like you and doing the same work provides a great opportunity to learn and share as a community. Attending the AANAPISI preconference as a team showed me how far Full Circle Project has come, and how much we have learned as an AANAPISI campus. Our experiences and practices are now helpful for newer AANAPISI staff who are navigating their own institutions and programming.

Jennifer Yang: The APAHE Preconference was great! I have attended a few in the past, but this year folks came from different schools throughout the country! I met people from Minnesota to the Pacific Islands!

To Lan Phin: It was great attending the APAHE Preconference and listening to the speakers and other attendees at the “Navigating Workplace Politics And Strategically Increasing Your Promotability By Building Key Bridges workshop.” I was able to learn what other young professionals in higher education were doing and it was very helpful hearing their experiences.

Hnou Lee: It was tremendously helpful to receive the AANAPIS.net travel grant to attend the pre-conference of APAHE. Every year Full Circle Project brings a group of students to APAHE and it was amazing to be able to support staff attendance, too. This was my first time attending as a staff member and I was able to gain more knowledge about being a young professional and all of the challenges ahead. I think it meant a lot for other ANNAPISIs to be able to look up to Full Circle Project as a model of success. Where new ANNAPSI’s are now is where FCP was 5 years ago. It was great to see all the programs learning and supporting one another.
